Can u ping to outside network and will u be able to browse the webpages.

And which version of gaim u r using? Have u installed in recently or earlier u were using it earlier (earlier it working fine or not) .

Try getting the latest one of gaim

Answering above will help me to solve the problem !

I think it's the newest gaim...but I'll check. I installed it with Swaret. I can browse fine...and can ping, I just can't send files via messengers, and now can't even connect to aim...BUT...it appears to be working in kopete. So I'm not sure what's going on :\

@RoaCh Of DisCor

If it is latest one then try getting previous version, this version might have some bugs, or if it is oldest one try getting latest one.
(becz i am not using gaim so i can't be sure which one is having or not any bug in it .....)

And as u said that u think it is latest one, so just do

#rpm -qa|grep gaim

at prompt and match it with gaim website....
