firefox questions

where is the File-> Send Page like mozilla has? firefox only seems to have a File -> Send Link, which i don't always want to do.

firefox also doesn't have any menu cookie manager or the other managers on the Tools menu. and you can't add mime types manually in the preferences, either, which especially sucks in linux where you have to be reliant on various "plugger" plugins.

i'm trying to switch to firefox since apparently mozilla.org is phasing out mozilla. but i just don't get what everyone sees in this browser. it's cartoony and anorexic. it seems like they're trying to "dumbify" everything a la microsoft. compared to moz it's a real dog.

Which version of Firefox are you using? I've got 1.0.6 installed, and "send link" is in the file menu.

Look under Edit->Preferences->Privacy->Cookies for the cookie manager.

Same here.

For a more detail "cookie manager" you might want to take a look at

CookieCuller is a modified Cookie Manager which allows you to protect cookies you want to keep and quickly delete the rest.

Firefox rocks. There are a lot more extensions and tweaks that you can do with it than you ever could with Mozilla. Look through some of the guides on the net.

Plugins are not really that big a deal. If a default app/mine-type is not set up a "Open with" dialog box pops up. Pick the app for that file type and click remember/always use.

This is why Firefox kicks butt.::

oops, yeah i meant Send Page, thanks. changing that. but whichever one it is, we still have lost one useful feature.

i know you can get to the cookies in the ff preferences:

Edit -> preferences -> privacy -> cookies -> exceptions -> type in url -> block/allow/allow for this session -> Ok -> Ok

compared to:

Tools -> cookie manager -> allow cookies from this site

(no typing required, no /c&p required, no opening and closing of window required, and 6 fewer steps) -- but the point is why are they making it so hard to use a basic feature? is the firefox Tools menu suddenly too crowded? or do they think leaving too many things on there will confuse all the windows-mentality people?

and how do you add a new helper app, like in mozilla: preferences, add new type? i guess you just don't. thanks ff!

none of those things could be made to work for mozilla?
