firefox printer
Good Morning
I am not able to print a file from within Firefox.
If i go to file - print No printer list is available.
I am using the firefox version 3.0.5.
I did set the default printer from the start menu - control center - pheriperals - it gives printer list and i selected the default printer.
but i am not able to print from firefox brower.

Does your printer print correctly from other applications? Does it have a name? I'm a bit concerned about "default printer". Is that what you call your printer? For example mine is: HL_1230. Does the "Print Preview" work correctly? What distro are you using?

yes

yes its dell8787
I am using rehat linux version 4.7.

So for some reason FFx is not seeing the printer. What desktop environment are you using? and does the dell8787 show up in your desktop's printer manager?

I am using kde3.3 desktop.
I see the printer dell8787 if i go to start menu - control center - pheriperals - it gives printer list and i can see their.

That's a rather old version of kde. I'm running 3.5.9. For starters you might want to upgrade you kde and see if the problem persists. Firefox normally sees the system printers that are set automatically. At the moment the kde version is the only possible cause that I can think of but maybe other people will have better ideas.
