Firefox crashes when I try to log in to most website

I can log into my mail and this site, but if I try to log into, for example, evite or myspace or ticketmaster, it crashes instantly & takes all other tabs/windows with it, then displays the "Send crash info to developers" dialog.

I was using Firefox v1.0 when it started happening a couple days ago, so I upgraded to the latest version, 2.0.0.2, & it's still happening.

I tried clearing my cache, but beyond that, I'm out of ideas.

thoughts?

Well i've heard myspace is a complete whore for flash. What about the other sites?

They probably use some sort of plugin that is failing.

You could try re-installing your flash plugin et al

i'm thinking about plugins as well.
has exactly the same once with a broken java-plugin.
did you recently install/update any of your plugins?

is there an error message of some sort that we might be able to use?

Create a new profile for Firefox.
It sounds like there was a problem in your profile to being with , and when you upgraded to the new version you brought that problem into firefox 2.0. I've run into this before on a couple of occasions. creating anew profile has always fixed the problem.

Use the profile manager and create a new Firefox profile, any your problems should go away.
You will need to copy over your bookmarks.html file from your old profile.
You will need to re-install any extensions you want to continue using.

Enjoy !!

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll give 'em a try when I get home.

I did upgrade flash recently... maybe that's the problem.
