tell me about error log files of one website

Hi

can anyone pls tell me about error log files of one web-site. What kind of details could be stored into error log file. Is there any difference between Error_log and Error_log.1,Error_log.2 ?

AN error log will contain any sorts of errors thrown by Apache, PHP, or any other module you have installed. The error log files with the numbers appended are simply older logs, and are kept for archival purposes.
