fedora core on mac mini core duo

Hi, I just got a new 1.66GHz mac mini core duo. I got it because i read that you can boot to an external firewire drive and i wanted to try out the mac osx without spending a fortune.

I want to install fedora core on my external firewire HDD(seagate, 3.5", internal HDD in an Ultra enclosure). I formatted and partitioned my external drive in disk utility. I set up 5 partitions so that i could have backup space for my mac, a partition for linux, two free partitions for later, and i wanted a partition for windows backup.

-Is this configuration possible?
-What file formats were I supposed to use when partitioning for these os's?
-I have fedora core 4 that works on windows, will these disks work with my mac core duo, or will i still need the ppc disks?
-And which version of fedora would be better: 4 or 5?

Thank you for any help.
