Evolution vs. Kontact

Hi All

What are the main differences between Evolution and Kontact (The KDE PIM applications)? How does Evolution 2 run on KDE 3.3 like? I am correct in saying that Evolution is a 'more professional' product than Kontact?

I'm running KDE 3.3 with SuSE 9.2 on several boxes (and have no intention of changing to GNOME) but I have heard good things about Evolution.

Personally I prefer thunderbird to all of them. If you want a calendar, there's a calendar extension that you can use. Thunderbird is a lot less cluttered than Kontact and I could never figure out how to use the Kontact calendar program properly. I haven't used evolution much though. Thunderbird is also pretty easy to upgrade when new updates come out.

I use a PDA and sync it with my email program. When I was configuring KPilot, it informed me that if I used Evolution, the hotsync program would not synchronize contacts. That seems illogical to me, but if Kontact does everything, fine, I'll use Kontact.

I haven't found any problem with using the calendar, btw.
