Evolution Problem

Hey Guys,
I'm having some problems with evolution. I can't seem to retrieve mail to one of my folders. This is the message:
Error while 'storing folder '/home/user/evolution/local/Inbox/subfolders/folder1":
Timed out trying to get lock file on //home/user/evolution/local/Inbox/subfolders/folder1/mbox. Try again later.

Any ideas why that would start doing that?

do
$tar -cvf ~/backup.tar /home/user/evolution/local/Inbox/subfolders/folder1/mbox/*
$rm -rf /home/user/evolution/local/Inbox/subfolders/folder1/mbox/*
now try again
if everything seems ok
copy back the contents from the backup
