Evolution "Copy Link Location" fails

When I right click on a highlighted hyperlink in an email message, I have a choice of "Open Link in Browser" and "Copy Link Location". Both fail. I was concluding I needed to configure a browser somewhere (while being puzzled why it couldn't figure out a default on its own) for the first one. But the second one seems to be a clear failure. I still can copy the URL into manually highlighting the URL text. But this only works if the URL itself was the given text (as opposed to text tagged with a URL), and it also gets messy avoiding some junk characters before and after. What is could the right click be expected to do if not start a browser or copy the URL?
