/etc/sysconfig/network

Do we have to enter the hostname as host+fqdn in the above file or is it ok if we enter the hostname alone as in my case "vale"

for eg:/etc/sysconfig/network file

..
....
hostname="vale"
domainname="mydomain.com"
...

;...................................................file end.................................

or

..
....
hostname="vale.mydomain.com"
domainname="mydomain.com"
...
..

;...................................................file end.................................
