/etc/sysconfig/network reboot?

how can i make the hostname change take effect w/o rebooting??

if you want to restart the network do

'/etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart'

if that doesnt bring up your hostname you can set the hostname by using 'hostname'

it will be good untill the net reboot and of course once you reboot your hostname will come-up

it still says Name@localhost on the prompt???

got it it changed after i did the network reboot and then logged out and logged back in thanks for the help
