I tried burning an ISO image of a movie onto a dvd recently. The write went to like 95% then failed. I'm like well I will try it again. I happily opened my new 100 pack of Memorex 16X DVD-R's and inserted one into my NEC ND-3550A. Immediately upon trying to run my burn dvd script again I recieved the following error:
russ@blackdeath:~$ burn-dvd.sh 4 dvd-iso/MUNICH.ISO
Executing 'builtin_dd if=dvd-iso/MUNICH.ISO of=/dev/dvdrw obs=32k seek=0'
/dev/dvdrw: "Current Write Speed" is 1.0x1385KBps.
:-[ WRITE@LBA=0h failed with SK=5h/ASC=30h/ACQ=05h]: Wrong medium type
:-( media is not formatted or unsupported.
:-( write failed: Wrong medium type
My script is a one liner such as this:
growisofs -dvd-compat -overburn -speed="$1" -Z /dev/dvdrw="$2"
I've dug around but can't find any solutions to this. If anyone could please help me I would be very grateful. Even a shove in the right direction, any direction, Im desperate
