Error running make xconfig


david:/usr/src/linux# make xconfig
HOSTCXX scripts/kconfig/qconf.o
/bin/sh: line 1: g++: command not found
make[1]: *** [scripts/kconfig/qconf.o] Error 127
make: *** [xconfig] Error 2

Please advise.

Thanks, that solved my q++ problem, but here comes afterwhich ...

david:/usr/src/linux# make xconfig
HOSTCXX scripts/kconfig/qconf.o
HOSTLD scripts/kconfig/qconf
scripts/kconfig/qconf arch/i386/Kconfig
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key
qconf: cannot connect to X server :0.0
make[1]: *** [xconfig] Error 1
make: *** [xconfig] Error 2

Any advice, please?

this does not answer your question. I do not know. You could try make menuconfig , it is a text kernel config tool. it is as easy to use as the graphical one. It is probably the most widely use kernel config tool.
