Hi,
I have an AMD 64 bit PC with Gigabyte motherboard. Till now, I cant get my sound working. Neither alsa nor the nforce drivers were able to bring up the audio. Recently, I tried to compile the latest alsa driver. I get the following error while compiling alsa utils. Can anyone help me to solve it.

if gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../include -g -O2 -MT alsamixer.o -MD -MP -MF ".deps/alsamixer.Tpo" -c -o alsamixer.o alsamixer.c; \
then mv -f ".deps/alsamixer.Tpo" ".deps/alsamixer.Po"; else rm -f ".deps/alsamixer.Tpo"; exit 1; fi
gcc -g -O2 -o alsamixer alsamixer.o -lncurses -lasound -lm -ldl -lpthread
alsamixer.o: In function `mixer_update_cbar':

I uninstalled the old library and tried again. But, no use on that... I am clueless of how to make it work.
