Unhappy Error Booting Redhat 7.2 - Urgent

Hi there,

I've got redhat 7.2 with apache and oracle installed on it, but, since last weekend when the system is booting all goes find until it sets the hostname. After that momment nothing happens.

Please, help me to recover the system and boot properly.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Can you verify that your network connection(s) to the server are working properly?

How long have you waited for the "hostname" to be set? The timeout on network connection is usually set to 5 min.s or so, and the network initalization may try several times, so you may need to wait 15 min.s to half an hour for the system to boot past a bad network connection.

Try turning off the network support (from your rescue disk boot) to see if that's the problem.

hi
did u play around with hostname or wot ?
maybe u can at boot prompt pass single user option to kernel ... and it will login u with minimal set of tools ... and then u can change ur hostname ..
u know to pass this option right ?
in either case i will tell u ...
interrupt grub ... while booting .. go into the editing boot process ...
append single user to the line where it talk abt kernel

kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.9-1.667 ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb quiet single user

something like this !!

anyways try it to see if it helps .. u can always change back
