Currently my company has an enterprise level sharepoint DMS. Our security group however does not use that DMS. We have our own maintained by me. Currently I am using RHEL coupled with KnowledgeTree to manage our docs, information, and files.

The product is ok but I would simply give it a 5/10 score. We would like to use Xythos for our DMS but unfortunately it is now extremely expensive and not open source. My question is do any of you maintain or use an open source or free DMS at your company. If so what do you use and how well do you like it.

Let me restate that we have KnowledgeTree and are quite disappointed by its searching, Metatagging and categorizing abilities. We do not want to pay the Big Bucks for Xythos since our company keeps telling us just to use SharePoint that they already have when we request the funds. Once again we say no we will maintain our own thank you.
