Question Enlightenment installation problem

I tried to install Enlightenment Window Manager in Slackware 10.2 and got the following error message: "checking for IMLIB2... Package imlib2 was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `imlib2.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'imlib2' found configure: error: Package requirements (imlib2 >= 1.2.0) were not met: Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix. Alternatively, you may set the environment variables IMLIB2_CFLAGS and IMLIB2_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details."

I have already installed imlib2.

I am a newbie and I don't know how to proceed. Help me plz.

You probably need to install the imlib-devel package. See if you can't find that one. Hope this helps

You could try http://slacke17.sourceforge.net/ they offer E17 prebuilt for Slackware 10.2. I've tried it and it works quite nicely.

Yeah! Downloading it right now.
But the point is, even when I have installed the imlib2 from enlightenment site, why is it not working properly? I have not changed the default installation path.

I'm having an identical problem (slackware 10.2 as well.)

since I know the library in question is present on my system, I would take the error message to mean that it is simply in a strange location or something. the full path to my imlib2.pc is:

/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig/imlib2.pc

could someone tell me how to change the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable? keep in mind I have a fairly tenuous grasp of what it even is.
