encodiding mp3 with grip


when i choose the option rip+encode by default the program create the ripped ripped tracks .wav and the encoded tracks .ogg
how can i configure the program if i wish to set the encoding to get mp3 tracks?

Change the encoder to lame or mp3encode from the default oggenc it is set to.

well I am having the same problem, my distro of linux doesnt come with an encoder. is there anywhere I can d/l one?

Yes, copyright fears abound in many large distros. You need to download lame
lame.sourceforge.net - then set the path to the executable in grip, or whatever you use (/usr/bin/lame). Then select lame as the encoder.
