dvd+rw maximum file size problem (burning)

Hello all...

I am trying to burn a single 4Gb file onto dvd+RW

I have sucessfully burned a number of smaller 600 to 700Mb files to fill a
DVD+R and a DVD+RW so I know the drive is ok and compatible. However I
want to burn a single large 4.3 Gb file onto DVD but I get this error :-

growisofs
-----------------------
WARNING: /dev/scd1 already carries isofs!
Warning: creating filesystem that does not conform to ISO-9660.
/usr/bin/mkisofs: Value too large for defined data type. File
/home/backup/backup.arc is too large - ignoring

The disc holds 4.4Gb, I suspect that this is a 4Gb limit on iso9660 filesystem from something else I read on the net, so :-

I next tried to burn a single 3.9Gb file and that seemed to burn ok (using latest k3b), took 20 mins at 4X. But when I mount the dvd it only shows up as a 6Mb file. xcdroast shows the disc does contain a single session iso9660 of 3.9Gb, so the data is on the disc.

So how do I get linux to see the real file and filesize... If I try and copy the file off the dvd it only copies 6Mb.

I am using fedora core 1 BTW and quite new to linux.

Fixed my own problem.

Burned the disc as udf only... I turned off rock-ridge and jolet support in k3b and just selected udf file system.

I may now try to fill the maximum 4.4Gb over the 4Gb limit
