Hello.
I update my kernel and my DVD-ROM not detected.
for update i use below command :

make xconfig
make
make modules
make modules_install
make install

in earlier kernel my DVD-ROM detected but after update not detect.my DVD-ROM model is PIONEER DVR-115.
for correct configuration kernel what should i do?in kernel i must choice special option for DVD-ROM?
Please Guide me.

Hi, in order for your DVD drive to be detected, you'll need to have enabled the IDE (SATA) drivers that the controller its connected to uses. Then you'll need to enable SCSI cdrom (BLK_DEV_SR) for the libata drivers:
Device Drivers -> SCSI Device support -> SCSI cdrom support (BLK_DEV_SR) ;
or ATAPI cdrom :
Device Drivers -> ATA/ATAPI/MFM/RLL support (DEPRECATED) -> Include IDE/ATAPI CDROM support (BLK_DEV_IDECD) for the legacy IDE drivers.
