Duel boot reverse setup, Linux already running

ok, I have done this 100 times (ok maybe not 100), but taking an existing machine, resize, add linux, this time its the opposite.

My wife needs vista for some work at home things, the machine is setup using fedora 9. I have a spare partition of 60gb which is not being used, but I know boot wise things will get overwritten. How do I install vista. I will select the blank partition, do the install, then a reboot (I would guess) would go right into vista.

I assume some how re-install grub, but not sure if that is the right approach, and more important, how-to!

Thanks.

I have never installed Vista, but one basic procedure will be something like this:
  1. Make a floppy boot disk for Fedora
  2. Install vista on your spare partition (it will take over the MBR)
  3. Once Vista is working, use the floppy to boot into Fedora
  4. From Fedora, re-install GRUB and set the config file to point to the new Vista installation.

There are many other ways to do this. See my link below, which also points to Saikee's stuff (He's the ultimate bootologist here.)
