Dovecot: Error: Couldn't drop privileges: User is missing UID (see mail_uid setting)

I have postfix and dovecot running, now I want to create virtual mailboxes. It's hard been because the entire Internet has decided that it can only be done with a database server and PostfixAdmin, which I really want to avoid because I just need three or four addresses. I am not an ISP, I am some guy in a bedroom. So nobody who writes tutorials explains how to do that on the command line. Dovecot's official documentation is pretty terse so I decided to begin by running some commands:

https://wiki.dovecot.org/Tools/Doveadm

https://doc.dovecot.org/admin_manual...lbox_commands/

This one looks like a good start, 'doveadm mailbox list'.

But it doesn't work. It complains:

Code:
Error: Couldn't drop privileges: User is missing UID (see mail_uid setting)
I also tried 'doveadm mailbox create' and got the same complaint again. It seems I won't be able do anything until I sort out that problem, even if I ever get a clue about how to create virtual mailboxes. Of course I googled it, but I can't really understand the discussions. Most of them seem to be related to LDAP, but I am not using LDAP.

Here is a copy of my configuration:

Can someone please advise.

TIA

See, told you you should be using dovecot for postfix sasl auth.
