When using Dolphin to access HDD /dev/sdb1, I get this message:
"An error occurred while accessing 'Home', the system responded: The device is already mounted: Device /dev/sdb1 is already mounted at `/media/tmd/HDD-3Tb'."
Clicking on the HDD a second time makes the error message go away and all works well. Why the error message?
This is probably happening because you are trying to access the device in /dev/path/to/device, rather than through the mountpoint in /media. Dolphin thinks you want to mount the device, and is telling you that it is already mounted.
Does the error happen when you point Dolphin directly at /media/path/to/partition?
Thanks for this, frankbell. I understood almost none of it. I've been using Linux Mint/Cinnamon for just two weeks, so before I pursue this further, I think I need to learn some Linux basics. I can work around this, and other disc errors, with a few mouse clicks, so not a problem at this point.
