Djplay sound problems

Hallo!
I have Ubuntu 7.10 and I've installed the Djplay from the add/remove list. My problem is that although the program seems to play the tracks there is no sound output!

Try starting djplay from the console (to get the command, right-click on the icon and add it to the desktop. Once you have the icon on the desktop, right-click on it to get properties and select launcher to get the command).

Once you start the program, go back to your console. You will probably see some error messages, which you can google.
