I'm trying to convert a divx to be burnt to a DVD. I can produce a DVD that works under linux (through gmplayer), but I can't get it to play in my commercial-grade DVD player. A friend of mine converted a VHS tape of mine (Pirates of Silicon Valley) to a DivX file for me, but now I want to burn it back to DVD (who uses VHS anymore anyway).
I've been using the following commands to produce the DVD, and doing the final burning of the ISO from K3b, but it always gives weird squares on the commercial dvd players, and squeaks/pops in the sound.
The
Code:
transcode -i Pirates\ Of\ Silicon\ Valley.avi -V -y mpeg -F d -E 44100 -b 128 -o
PoSV_transcoded
tcmplex -o PoSV.vob -i PoSV_transcoded.m2v -p PoSV_transcoded.mpa -m d
dvdauthor -o . PoSV.vob && dvdauthor -o . -T
mkisofs -dvd-video -o PoSV.iso ./PoSV
The dvdauthor phase gives lots of warnings asking me to re-multiplex, but I've multiplexed several times with the same results. Thoughts everyone?
