divx+subtitle file+dvdauthor

how would i convert a divx file with an external subtitle file into an mpeg then a dvd with subtitle using dvdauthor?

You don't. You have to have the video in mpeg2 format with proper size and frame rate before you use dvdauthor. Avidemux is very good a file conversion.

yeah i figured that much
but how do i add the subtitle track?

I do not deal with subtitles much. But I would imagine the Avidemux forum will either know or know where to point you.

Instead of DVDauthor try DeVeDe.
