disc space is too low

Hi,
I have ubuntu 10.04 on HP compaq presario notebook. Recently I got several alerts saying " your disc space is too low". I checked the box that says " Don't show any more alerts". Now I have cleared up the hard disc, and want to enable those alerts again. Please let me know how I can enable the alerts again. Thanks.

Is this what you did to disable?

NO. When I got the alert, there was a check box that says " Don't show any more alerts". I checked that box. Now I am afraid I will not be alerted when disc space goes low again. I want to get the alerts again.

Did you get that alert from an icon on the taskbar? Right click on the empty space on the taskbar, click add items, check out the list.

I still think that even though you had a graphical icon, you can use this information and reenable.

I did not get the alert from the task bar.The alert just popped up, frankly I do not know from where.

I am ready to try the configuration editor, but my System tools has only one item- KPackageKit. Please tell me how to get to the configuration editor.

I did try to right click on the empty space on the taskbar, click add items, check out the list. I did not see anything that looked like disc space alert. Is it named something else? Or is there a step I am missing?

Try the configuration editor. If you look carefully at the image you'll see that I opened it for you to view.

Did you have something like "notification area"?

You might have kconfiguration editor, go to System>>Preferences>>Mian Menu and check box and it will be in menu if it's an option.

I checked in System>>Preferences>>Main Menu. Configuration editor is not in there. Is there a way I can add it?
