I'm a newbie linux user (suse pers. 9.1) and I've been using Kmail for a few weeks.
I checked my email earlier today at work using the web based email viewer provided by my ISP (Copper.net), and I had about 5 messages. Then tonight I go to download it with Kmail, and it says there's no messages. Logging back onto the web-based viewer, I see that the messages are gone!
I never had problems like this when using Outlook before, so I'm tempted to blame Kmail. Does anyone have any ideas how this could happen?
I've never had any probs with Kmail before... (touches nearest piece of wood).
I guess there's no chance that you might have downloaded the mail into a less-than-obvious folder ? The default setup when an account is added under Settings - Configure Kmail is usually to delete the mail from the server after fetching, so if you accidentally pressed the 'download new mail' button twice, then the first time it could have downloaded the mail and deleteted it from the server, then given the 'no new mail' message ?
I expected the emails to be deleted fromt the server (and the web-based email client), but the problem is that it never downloaded the mail to Kmail in the first place.
