Dependencies

I am using OpenSuse 10.2. I just got the packman plugin for multimedia capabilties. When I try to update the software, I get dependency issues with the xine.lib :

Unresolved dependencies:
Updating xine-lib-1.1.2-39.i586[System packages] to xine-lib-1.1.2-40.1.i586[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates]
Installing patch:xine-lib-2487-0.noarch[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates]
Establishing atom:xine-lib-1.1.2-40.1.i586[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates]
atom:xine-lib-1.1.2-40.1.i586[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] needed by patch:xine-lib-2487-0.noarch[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates]
Installing atom:xine-lib-1.1.2-40.1.i586[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates]
Marking xine-lib-1.1.2-39.i586[20070318-200837] as uninstallable due to conflicts over xine-lib == 1.1.2-39 from libxine1-1.1.4-0.pm.0.i686[20070320-155038]
A conflict over xine-lib == 1.1.2-40.1 (xine-lib) requires the removal of to-be-installed xine-lib-1.1.2-40.1.i586[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates]
Marking this resolution attempt as invalid.

How would I fix this?

This may not matter in suse but in FC you cannot mix .i586 and .i686.

It doesn't matter. Have you tried uninstalling your previous xine first? Seems like a lot more work, as you might have to satisfy other dependency's, but it's the only thing I could think of.
