Angry Default sound changes after random amount of boots

I have a onboard soundcard which is an integral part of the motherboard. I do not wish to use this so have a soundcard in a slot.
The onboard is named 'Via 8235'
The soundcard is named 'C-Media PCI CMI8738-MC6

The problem is, when the pc has been booted a few times, the default setting has changed from C-Media PCI CMI8738-MC6 to Via 8235.

This is an ongoing problem that has been with me from the very start that I installed ubuntu, many months ago. I have asked my friend who is a programmer, but he cannot work this one out .

It is driving me up the wall basically.

Thumbs down Default sound changes after random amount of boots

Sorry StudioJ bios has not got that option. Figure it has something to do with the way Ubuntu loads upon startup. A file can probably be configured to exclude Via 8235
