Debian Testing Epiphany & Firefox Browser

I recently did a dist-upgrade of my debian testing system and it took it upon itself to remove the epiphany browser I was using and install the Mozilla Firefox browser which I hadn't even looked at.
I have tried searching the web to see why this occurred but it's like finding a needle in a hay stack.
Can anyone point me to some reasonable information or give me an answer.
Thanks
