THe problem is the following:
I'm trying to install a HP DeskJet 930c on my Gentoo linux. I've downloaded and installed HPlip package
Then I made all steps according to on-site manual
cupsd and hplib started succesful, but when I try to add my printer on the final stage (after choosing the printer model) nothing happens - web page just freezes up
Is this a network printer? I had the same thing happend with an HP Deskjet 5200D. Check out www.linuxprinting.org and see if there are any special instructions for your model. I solved this problem by using Kprinter instead of CUPS setup -- it properly set the protocol stuff for the network. This was the recommendation of Linuxprinting.org. Check to see if gnome has something similar...
