cups password


im setting up a linux printer for the first time (epson stylus color 900) and i got into the cups page through my browser just fine but i cant add any printers or anything like that because it asks for an administrative username and password, where do i find/edit this?

Using Webmin/http admin, usually you would login as root with your root password. You can also assign a cups group and add yourself to it if you wish to login as an administrative user. The login/passwords are held by PAM.. the same thing your linux box uses to allow/disallow users. Good luck.
