Corba Problems ?

Hi there,

I am trying to get the hello world example to work on my fedora box I have all the compilers etc I have followed the example
http://java.sun.com/...idlExample.html

it all goes fine untill 5 I type in the command

Code:
java HelloServer -ORBInitialPort 1050 -ORBInitialHost localhost&

and it says invalid arugment helloserer
[root@localhost HelloApp]# java HelloServer.java -ORBInitialPort 1050 -ORBInitialHost localhost&
[3] 2473
[2] Done java HelloServer -ORBInitialPort 1050 -ORBInitialHost localhost
[root@localhost HelloApp]# com.sun.tools.corba.se.idl.InvalidArgument: Invalid argument: HelloServer

and then it states the compiler usage

could someone please tell me where I am going wrong

Thanks

No one can help you unless they can read your code. The link you gave for the code does not work.

When you are using a cobra so first of all the syntax check then your self create a idea in your mind.I can get ORB set up just fine. the server runs with no problems. The same code compiles and runs fine on Win32.I get problems when the server and client are on different OS.

Why does it say java HelloServer.java?
You cannot run source code. To run a program you would use the class name ( no .java after the file) to run the byte code. Perhaps it thought you were trying to compile? Maybe that is why the message about compile usage?

It made no diffrence if I did it without the .java or with it I just copied the wrong bit it produced the same output but I solved that problem it was simply a bad pointer ref in the /usr/bin
