Copy svn repo from one server to another?

Some weeks ago I started administering a network where one of the service is a subversion server in production state.
I didn't have experience in svn so I started studying. I don't wan't to touch the server in production state so I'm installing another svn server.

I'd like to know which would be the best option to "copy" the repository from the production server to the new one. Just copying the start directory of the repository will work?

Thanks in advance,

Have a look at the subversion docs here. The most useful sections will be "Migrating a Repository" and "Repository Backup". They describe your options pretty well and I think the info is current.
