Hello everyone, I've been having an issue with Linux Mint 18.1 where I seem to having issues with what I think is bad video drivers. It crashes and has odd graphical issues that usually look something like
this photo shown.
My hardware consists of:
GPU: AMD R9 390
CPU: i7 6700k
Mobo: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming/Aura
RAM: 16 GB
I have a dual-boot setup, and things are functioning properly on Windows- so I don't think there's a hardware issue. I've ran Mint 17.3 on the same hardware (except the motherboard and power supply) and it also had the same crashing issues when using using the default open-source drivers. I ended up fixing them by using the proprietary fglrx driver.
I want to run the Mesa drivers on my current setup, but even using those it seems to crash the same way as it did with the default video driver (I installed it from this source
https://launchpad.net/~paulo-miguel-...ve/ubuntu/mesa following this
video tutorial. I'd like to keep my videos as up to date as possible for gaming.

Additional issues I'd like to fix:
Being able to tweak refresh rate
Additional video tweaks? Like freesync, etc.
