Configure Wine
Hi, I have 2 Questions.
1.- I recenty installed Wine, but when Im in root user, and I want to run some programs, appears me that doesnt exist /root/.wine/ how can I configure?
2.- I have mounted my HDA1 Windows 2000 in /mnt/windows, I copied the Microsoft Visual Studio folder to /home/gerardo/c/Program Files/Microsoft Visual Studio/, but when I run vb6.exe appears me the splash screen of Visual Basic but then appears me Cannot find STDOLE2.TLB file. What is the problem?
There are some programs that automatically configure WINE, but I think they come seperately.This talks about them.
1. Make a directory called ".wine" in /root, then copy this sample config file to it: "/usr/docs/wine/samples/config". Your WINE folder might becalled something else (ie with number at the end like this:WINE-20002435). If you search for wine.conf in the manual pages it will explain this file. Now edit it to specify where you want your fake C:\ and other things. For example you may want to put it in "/opt/wine/c" you'd have this:
[Drive C]
"Path" = "/opt/wine/c"
"Type" = "hd"
"Label" = "Hard Drive"
"Filesystem" = "win95"
There's alot more to configure but this'll run the simpler stuff.
2. VB probably needed a file that was in another folder. You would probably have better luck if you ran the installation program under wine.
