Hello at all.
I have a big problem with my tv-card.
I have a KWorld PCI Card (bttv card type is 78) with an nvidia FX 5200 on asus
p4c800 deluxe. The cpu is a Pentium 4 and my OS is Slackware 10.0 with the
kernel 2.6.7.
Well. My card is found at boot but setted to GENERIC TYPE.
To try a right configuration i have unload all the modules used by the tv-card
(bt878, bttv, tuner, etc.) then i have made a "modprobe bttv card=78 tuner=0
radio=1" that is the right configuration for my card. I have otherwise try
with a "modprobe bt878 card=78 tuner=0 radio=1" but in boot case the card
don't work correctly.
In particular the /dev/v4l/video0 is created (i have set manually right
permission to it). but it's size is 0.
With an lsmod | grep bt i obtain this loaded modules:
bttv _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _143180 _0
video_buf _ _ _ _ _ _ _16388 _1 bttv
i2c_algo_bit _ _ _ _ _ _9096 _1 bttv
v4l2_common _ _ _ _ _ _ 5120 _1 bttv
btcx_risc _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 4104 _1 bttv
i2c_core _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 18964 _3 tuner,bttv,i2c_algo_bit
videodev _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _7424 _1 bttv
soundcore _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 7392 _2 bttv,snd
and with an: lspci | grep Bt i obtain:
02:0a.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Video Capture
(rev 11)
02:0a.1 Multimedia controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Audio Capture (rev
11)
but ls -l /dev/v4l/* give:
crw-rw-rw- _1 root video 81, _64 2004-08-25 20:14 /dev/v4l/radio0
crw-rw-rw- _1 root video 81, 224 2004-08-25 20:14 /dev/v4l/vbi0
crw-rw-rw- _1 root video 81, _ 0 2004-08-25 20:14 /dev/v4l/video0 _<---- _
I have try to use a card with xawtv and kdetv but boot can't find any station!

penguin4 -- considering that this post is only post #2 in the thread, suggesting that a review of post #3 in the thread doesn't make any sense. In any case, rather than simply telling aelsantex to do a search, why not just explain how you configured your TV card? -- J.W.
