Angry compiling sane frontends

i have successfully compiled and installed sane backends on my suse 8 system. however, when i try to compile the front ends i keep getting an error like this:

ld ...
cannot find -lXi
[all recursive] error 1

as a side note, it also cannot successfully test the sane backend or the gtk. both are installed with headers. the scripts seems to find them ok, but the tests fail. so i had to use the disable-test options on the config file.

anyone know of a nice rpm for suse 8 with the drivers for the hp 2200c scanjet already to go? i'd slip you a favor for it. grin. (if my scanner worked with it)

Sweet! Dudes offering something in return!

That's the scanner I have as well, and have yet to get the bastard going. I have tried the "epson" idea that has been shown on the page where you got your backend probably.

But if you do ever get it going, or if you find out more ideas on how, I would be happy to try them out as well

Dont bother with the sane-frontends package, Xsane is the recomended frontend, even recomended (and linked) by the sane people themselves.
