command for hibernation in RHEL 5


I've installed RHEL 5. Hibernation/software suspend is appended to the kernel by default. In GUI mode, the hibernation option is available. What is the command to hibernate from command prompt. Is there any script to be installed to get the command?

hibernate to disk is
as root

echo disk >/sys/power/state

suspend to memory

echo mem >/sys/power/state
