I have a guy in th eoffice that blew up his WindowsXP PC, so I restored it and thought hey ... this guy may like a Spanish based PC. I install Kubuntu Dapper and "accidently" selected the Spaniosh KB layout. Since I know he will be using it with a US Keyboard, I would like to change it to a US layout ... with Spanish text. I do not know if I selected Spanish KB or El Salvadorain ... both came up after I selected the language. I was able to find the KB Layout under Prefs but there was no place to change it. Thanks in advance for your help! English replies only please, I do not speak Spanish.

In the Kde control center, select Regional and accessibility, then keyboard layout. Pick the layout you want, click Apply.

Damn now I feel really dumb. LOL ... never had to use that before though and it did work. Thanks!
