Question Change hardware


Greetings

What's the quickest way to change to a different model motherboard if your using sles9 / nld?
If I change the motherboard the OS wont boot up.
Please make any suggestions thank you.

you want to change ONLY the motherboard? The cpu and the video card will stay the very same? Then there should not be any problem, as RH kernel are not optimized for specific hardwares by default anyways. Unless you are changing some critical hardwares ( as example,changing from an Intel CPU to an AMD one, switching to SATA...) there should not be any problem.
In the worst case you will have to boot from a live cd (or RH rescue cd) and to update (recompile) your kernel.
