Hi today i will install my new cd-rw drive to my fedora core 1.. I want to know which programmes i must use to make it work... plz bear in mind that no x environment is available and so i need console commands...
thx a lot
any good guide?
well the main program at the heart of most others is cdrecord. There are console frontends available to this, like cdw. The other main burner backend is cdrdao, but that's mainly for burning cue/bin images and other things requiring disk-at-once burning.
also, fc1 is a 2.4 kernel distro, and as such you will require ide-scsi emulation enabled for the ide drive. you'd find the installation a lot easier if you were to upgrade to somethign based on 2.6, e.g fc3.
