CD burning software

I'm using X-CD Roast but I can't make it burn a DATA multisession CD, it just produces audio-tracks of my files... Anyone?
I need it for continuous backup of small files.

The man page for cdrecord talks about multisession burning.
Code:
man cdrecord
also found these on LQ

Some of those are for K3B which is what a lot of folks use.
Just search this forum, there are lots of hits for multisession cd burning.

I tried k3b instead. But it won't append to a multisession. I cannot find any options in the program that would make it work.

Quote:
Could not retrieve multisession information from disk.
The disk is either empty or not appendable.
Can it be that my old writer PHILIPS PCRW404 (4x) does not support multisession creation? I don't know anything about cd-writers so I ask.

I have other things to concentrate on (the project that needs backup), so I would appreciate and knowledge about this.

It's so uninteresting with cd-writing malfunctions.

If you finalize a Multisession CD then you cannot append to it. Is this CD finalized?

It shouldn't be finalized, as I'm aware that it must not be. However, as a human I make mistakes. I will try again just to be sure, tomorrow probably.
