Can not print out text in color from Open Office or
Qcad. My printer is a HP Deskjet 5655. It can
print the test page in color, but from the other
programms the color is replaced with light grey.
I use Scientific Linux 7.1 and KDE.
Someone have a hint of the problem?
ostene
I know it doesn't solve the problem, but I can print colored text in LO v. 4.4.3.1 on Slackware --Current on my HP OfficeJet Pro L7600.
My first suggestion would be to check the printer's settings to make sure that color hasn't been disabled at the output end. I doubt it's a very likely condition, but it should be easy to check and might save a lot of heartburn.
I found the solution after a hint from "frankbell" and some work:
Open a consol and execute "system-config-printer"
Chose your printer from the new window, and a new
window opens "Printer Properties-printer name on localhost"
under "Printer options" choose "Output Mode: Color"
and under "Job options" mark "Scale to fit"
After updating some files the color printing problem
came back using open office. I repeated the sequence
that funcioned earlier but without luck this time.
Have tested many configuration settings but not found
the right place to fix it. My printer is HP deskjet 5655.
Should be very thanksfull for some hints to the problem.
