Question Cannot Open File

Hi,

I am new to Linux and have not been able to install any programs. For instance, I downloaded a game, double clicked on it and got the following message:

Could not open the file /home/aron/Desktop/legends_linux_gui-0.4.1.42.run using the Unicode (UTF-8) character coding.

Please check that you are not trying to open a binary file.
Select a different character coding from the menu and try again.

Any ideas?

Nevermind, I tried opening it in the terminal, typing sudo sh <file> and it installed.
