Cannot install imms (gaim plugin)

Imms is an adaptive playlist plugin for gaim. I downloaded the tar.gz file and gunzipped and untarred it. After doing that, I typed in ./configure and make. I also typed in make install and no error occured. In fact, it copied two executables (immsd and immstool) to my /usr/bin directory.

Now when I start up xmms, imms should be in the "plugins" tab, but it isn't. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? (Preferably someone who has installed this plugin or any other plugin for xmms)
Regards,

First, you've got to locate where gaim's plugins are. They probably are in /usr/lib/gaim or /usr/local/lib/gaim. Check that the plugin installed itself there. It may be possible that gaim is installed in /usr and the plugin installed itself in /usr/local, or the other way round. You may want to do ./configure --prefix=/usr/local or ./configure --prefix=/usr
