can not get adobe reader to print

All I want to do is print a a 3 page document.

I gave up on xpdf and installed adobe reader. I go print, then properties, then I see this for the printer command:

/usr/bin/lpr -P HPLJ2

But I'm not using lpr, I'm using CUPS.

Adobe says "see CUPS manual for details"

WTF?

Debian sid, hp laserjet II.

this command should correctly print via cups. What is exaclty the problem you have ? Did you try it and it didn't work ?

The printer did not acknowledge the command at all.

I changed "lpr -P" to "lp -d" and it worked. Although I still get "lpr -P" by default.
