Can't view /proc folder in Nautilus!

I'm trying to get some buggies out of my system, and attempted to view the /proc folder in Nautilus. Nada. Says 'loading' - never loads!

Yet the /proc folder contents are totally viewable from the Linux commandline, and also within a terminal window, while using a GUI desktop (Gnome).

Anyone got an idea as to what's causing this, and how to fix it?

Thanks!

Viewing /proc Files with Nautilus

I'm borrowing from LDDv3 here, but the files in /proc are tied to kernel functions that generate the file's virtual contents on the fly when the file is read. As viewed by stat, files in /proc are "regular empty file" with size 0 and number of blocks 0. Nautilus probably uses stat() and ignores empty files, although not without a hiccup in this case.
