Can't apply updates because of "cups" pulic key

I was trying to apply updates on a Fedora 6 machine when after resolving dependencies, I received the following message:
Code:
Public key for cups-libs-1.2.12-1.fc6.i386.rpm is not installed
Cups has to do with printing, does it not? Why would I have to install public keys for a library file for printing and if I have to install them, where do I get the public keys for this?

I would import the keys from the site below to avoid such errors with import command like so as root:
Code:
rpm --import http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/6/i386/os/RPM-GPG-KEY
Do this for any key on that page that applies to your system if it is the i386, for other architectures go to the appropriate web page by navigating using parent directory and keep track of the url in the browser. The link below is the same one in the import command adding one of the keys, make sure to be on the right page for your architecture which is highlighted in red. Besides the one in the example above, I would do the one with fedora and fedora.extras.

This last set of cups rpms was put together with the wrong key. I would assume a new builder or just a bad day.

The new rpms should be out before too long(with the correct key).

Every "official" rpm you get has a key. This makes it easy to verify that it has not been tampered with (no virus, no malware, etc).

You've got the keys for your 3rd party repos. also?
Wouldn't think Fedora's key would not work for a package they put together.

Yes, every repo has its own key. Well the approved ones. Livna, Freshrpms, Atrpms, and I am sure most of the otherones we have heard of.

If you really want to install the package, you could do
Code:
#rpm -Uvh /var/cache/yum/updates/packages/cups-libs-1.2.12-1.fc6.i386.rpm
Obviously, you should only do this if you know that this is an official Fedora package.
